The 99th Chinese Export Commodities Fair (Canton Fair)

The 99th Chinese Export Commodities Fair will be held in April 15-20 and 25-30 respectively in Guangzhou, China. The main goods in the first session are industrial products, textiles & garments, medicines & health products .The goods in the second show are consumer goods and gifts.

Chinese Export Commodities Fair, also called Canton Fair, is held twice a year in Spring and Autumn since it was inaugurated in the Spring of 1957. It is China's largest trade fair of the highest level, of the most complete varieties and of the largest attendance and business turnover. Preserving its traditions, the Fair is a comprehensive and multi-functional event of international importance.

Fifty Trading Delegations, being composed of thousands of China's best foreign trade corporations (enterprises) with good credibility and sound financial capabilities, take part in the Fair, including foreign trade companies, factories, scientific research institutions, foreign invested enterprises, wholly foreign-owned enterprises, private enterprises, etc.

Besides traditional way of negotiating against samples, the Fair holds Canton Fair online. The Fair leans to export trade, though import business is also done here. Apart from the above-mentioned, various types of business activities such as economic and technical cooperations and exchanges, commodity inspection, insurance, transportation, advertising, consultation, etc. are also carried out in flexible ways. Business people from all over the world are gathering in Guangzhou, exchanging business information and developing friendship.

The Secretary Office is responsible for the general coordination of the CECF affairs, the organization and coordination of the important events held by the Fair, the reception of the leaders of the Ministry of Commerce and VIPs, the implementation of the tasks deployed by the Ministry of Commerce, the report on the CECF affairs to higher departments, the circulation of documents and confidential files among different offices, the coordination of on-site exhibition services, communication and financial work, logistic work, etc.

The Business Office is responsible for the organization and deployment of the work of export and turnover at the CECF, the study and analysis of foreign trade policies and situations, the guidance on the statistic work on export and turnover at the Fair, the guidance on the exhibition effect evaluation of the Fair, the plan of Fair organization, the organization of the study on the reform and development of the CECF, the compilation of the information on the Fair's work, for example, the Fair Summary, the guidance on the investigation and punishment for illegally booth regrating or cession, the coordination of Fair organization and exhibition together with the trading delegations and chambers of commerce, the guidance on and the facilitation of the Fair's informationalization, the establishment of electronic administerial system, e-commercial system and information service system of the Fair, etc.

Foreign Affairs Office is responsible for the organization and arrangement of foreign communication and foreign affairs of Chinese Export Commodities Fair, including arranging foreign affairs activities of the chief leaders of CECF; receiving overseas governmental economic and trading delegations on invitation; organizing and arranging various kinds of seminars; inviting or assisting to invite overseas speakers, officials of consulates, chambers of commerce and company representatives to attend the above-mentioned meetings; issuing certificates of foreign visitors.
